Thomas is encouraging residents to call 211 for non-emergency situations and to stock up on dry ice and other resources while the power remains out.

"As for power restoration, tell people to be patient and to thank all the utility workers and emergency service personnel - Police Fire and DPW," Thomas said. "Con Ed is working around the clock with crews doing 16 hour shifts on an overlap basis. They have my good friends from Utility Workers Union of America Local 1-2 on the job as well as out of state utility workers and local private contractors."

Thomas said to follow him on Twitter for updates from him.
