Mount Vernon Asks Residents To Report Fallen Trees

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. — Mount Vernon is asking residents to report any downed trees due to Hurricane Sandy.

Residents were told call 911 in the case of emergencies during the hurricane. In nonemergencies, the number to call is 914-665-2460.

Officials also warned residents to be cautious around fallen power lines. No items should be moved when downed wires are present. Treat every downed wire as live.

Police, fire and public works personnel will respond to these emergencies as swiftly as they can.
