McDonald's Cuts Numbers Of Items At Westchester Locations

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – McDonald's customers will have to say goodbye to eight items from the menu as well as five extra-value meals in January, NBC News reports.

The company recently has struggled with increased competition in the restaurant industry as fast-causal players such as Chipotle have gained share, NBC notes.

According to McDonald's, four out of five its sales comes from a small set on its menu.

The company is developing a new service called "Create Your Taste," which would encourage customers to customize their own burgers and chicken items. It is also giving more autonomy to local operators, so they can cater to preferences in local markets, according to NBC.
