The DEC said the presence of such contaminates often are considered “contaminants of concern,” said Lohud.com.

The city was given a notice of violation last month by the DEC, saying construction and demolition debris was dumped without a permit, added the newsite.

The violation notice comes after the state conducted its own on-site inspections twice earlier this year, were soil samples found to contain contaminants, said Lohud.com.
