For those looking to see family over the holiday week, be advised there will be rain -- heavy at times -- through Christmas Day morning, when the gloomy pattern will clear out and the sun makes an appearance, but strong winds will continue.

Wednesday's forecast calls for patches of fog and temperatures hovering in the 40s during the daytime.

The area may get up to three quarters of an inch of rain Wednesday, along with steady wind gusts in the range of 16 to 24 mph. Gusts could get close to 40 mph.

Those wishing for a white Christmas will be disappointed, as temperatures are expected to hold steady in the 50s Wednesday through Thursday night.

In fact, the next chance of snow in the forecast isn't until Sunday, at roughly 30 percent.
