County Clerk Offering Mount Vernon Expedited Passports

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Mount Vernon residents will have the opportunity to have their passports processed this week when the Westchester County Clerk brings the community outreach mobile office to the city.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday at Mount Vernon City Hall, community outreach staffers will be on hand to assist residents applying for a United States passports, including the accompanying photos.

Applicants must bring a certified transcript of birth with a raised seal (no copies), a valid state or government issued identification and a passport photo if they have one.

To make the process move more quickly, those interested in applying can fill out a passport application form that can be found online before being signed in front of a staff member. 

All children, including newborn infants, are required to have their own passport in order for travel outside of the country, and must appear with a parent when applying for a passport. Children under the age of 16 must have the consent of both parents. Minors in custody disputes may not apply for passports if the child’s name has been entered in The Children’s Passport Issuance Alert.

The passports will cost $135 for adults and $105 for children. Application fees can be paid by check, money order or credit card
