Children from all across Westchester County gathered as the RFKT Holiday Troupe to sing Christmas songs and dance for senior citizens during the holiday season. RFKT Director Julie Schwartz Webb said the idea behind the performance is to bring a show to people who may not get to see one during the holiday season.

“It’s really a great way to give back to the community,” Schwartz Webb said. “It’s nice to do something that the kids enjoy and to give back to others. We have some talented kids here.”

Reissa Ress, arts coordinator at The Wartburg, who is also active with RFKT, helped bring the Holiday Troupe to the senior living facility. Ress said residents love to sing and have their own choir.

“They love to see kids come in and perform songs,” Ress said. “Music helps them get through their day.”

Members of the RFKT Holiday Troupe who performed in Mount Vernon include Allison Brunetto, Emma Christopher, Rose Hanish, Allie Lewis, Mirabel Mallett, Anya Raikhovski, Sydney Savage, Sophia Sklar, Katerina Trantzas, Julia White and Ursula Wise.
