Car Fire Ignites Building, Displaces Mount Vernon Families

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Red Cross is helping four families find temporary housing after a car fire severely damaged their multiple-unit building Sunday, according to News 12.

Mount Vernon firefighters, with help from the Yonkers Fire Department, had to handle a car fire Sunday that spread to a nearby building.

The car ignited about 5:30 a.m. Sunday then spread to the building, but no injuries were reported. Firefighters from Mount Vernon and Yonkers worked to put out the fire, News 12 says.
