Affordable Housing Contractor Hit With Osha Fines In Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A Maspeth, N.Y., contractor working on an affordable housing complex in Mount Vernon has been fined $17,100 for safety violations, according to lohud.com.

Officials with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined Kingspan Inc. for three violations for scaffolding and training, during a visit to the site, said lohud.com.

The company was working on the $60 million La Porte building which when completed, will include 159 units of affordable housing ranging from studios to two-bedroom apartments, added lohud.com.

The contractor has until Aug.  2 to correct the safety violations, said lohud.com.
