Maria Provenzano, who has more than 20 years experience in senior care, comes to Wartburg from CenterLight Healthcare, where she was its social work director for its managed long-term care program.

Provenzano, a graduate of Fordham University, has master’s degrees in social work and management from New York University.

According to David Gentner, Wartburg’s president and chief executive officer, Provenzano will oversee the program that provides “a safe, stimulating environment for seniors, with special support for those living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.”

Pointing to her passion for senior care, Provenzano said she was looking forward to “growing this program to help more in the community and beyond live their best life.”

In her private life, Provenzano is a theater buff and is currently directing a play at the City Island Theater, set to open later this month.

Wartburg’s 34-acre campus is on Bradley Avenue. It serves seniors from southern Westchester, the northern Bronx, and the New York metropolitan area.

Among the services it provides are independent living, assisted living, rehabilitation and hospice care.
