MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Wartburg, a leading provider of senior care services in Westchester County, honored 89 employees for their service and dedication at the annual Years of Service Luncheon held earlier this month on their 34-acre campus.
Awards are given every year to employees for service in increments of five years. Three employees received an honor for 35 years of dedicated care to the residents and registrants and three received awards forc 25 years of service. Six employees received a gift for 20 years of employment at Wartburg, 20 employees for 15 years and 25 caregivers for 10 years. Wartburg was honored to recognize 32 employees for five years of care.
“Wartburg is a service organization, known for generations of caring and dedication to vulnerable populations,” said David J. Gentner, president and CEO of Wartburg. “We’re only as good as our people, and our people are what make Wartburg so special. We’re happy to invest in our employees, and are always grateful when they honor us back with their longtime service.”
For the first time, Wartburg presented the Edgar J. Myers Leadership Award, named for the longtime beloved president of the Wartburg Foundation and former board member. Patricia Kyer, an 18-year home care veteran with Wartburg, received the inaugural award for her dedication to patients and embodying the mission.
“To be given an award in Mr. Myers’ name makes me feel especially honored. I so very much enjoy the work I do for the home care patients at Wartburg,” said Kyer.
Wartburg is an award-winning provider of comprehensive senior services, including independent living, assisted living, Alzheimer’s/dementia care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, adult day services and hospice care.
