MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Two Mount Vernon residents and a Yonkers resident have been announced among the "Sweet 16" for the Empire City Casino's "Lucky Break" singing competition show.
Joshua Arron and John Stevenon, both of Mount Vernon, and Devin Ali, of Yonkers, will go head-to-head with contestants from Connecticut, Pennsylvania and South Carolina for $25,000, a trip to Los Angeles and a possible record deal, the casino announced in a press release.
Empire City’s Clare Galterio and KTU’s radio personality Mike Ryan host “Lucky Break” films in front of a live audience every at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday in the entertainment lounge at Empire City Casino, according to the release.
"Contestants perform their favorite songs every week in front of a rotating panel of judges, showcasing their singing talent week after week," according to the release. "Starting from auditions in April, our top 16 have come a long way."
Norwalk's Drew Angus also is among the contestants.
