Mount Vernon Workshop Aims To Give Students 'Tools for Success'

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Eta Zeta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. will a workshop in its series for high school students, “Tools for Success,” on Satuday, Nov. 21, in Mount Vernon.

The Eta Zeta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated is proud to announce the November workshop in its series for high school students: “Tools for Success”.

The “Tools for Success” series aims to tackle real-world issues that high school students face, from college/vocation choices to sexual health and responsibility. These workshops are held monthly, are free and open to any high school student. 

“Tools for Success” is presented as a part of Alpha Phi Alpha’s national program, “Go to High School, Go to College.” The initiative concentrates on the importance of completing secondary and college education as a road to advancement, by offering information and teaching strategies that facilitate success. 

The workshop will be held from 9-11 a.m. Nov. 21 at the Westchester Community College Mount Vernon Extension, 17 S. Fifth Ave. 

The presenter will be Charles Curtis, a Yonkers native, musician, actor, director, teaching artist and commissioned playwright. His performance credits include opera, musicals, stage plays and film.
