The theme of the gala at the Davenport Club in New Rochelle was “A Toast to Our Trailblazers,” with several leading Mount Vernon volunteers and city officials being celebrated for the work they have done to help the community.

Mayor Ernest Davis was among the honorees, winning the Visionary Globe Award. Two officials at the Wartburg – President and Chief Executive Officer David Gentner and Director of Volunteers Ann Frey – each earned an Inspiration Globe Award.

More than 200 guests attended the event, with all proceeds going to support TSFI youth programs, which are designed to boost responsibility, leadership and maturity in at-risk children.

Other award winners include Mount Vernon Deputy Fire Chief Tom Duffy, the recipient of the “Teach a Man to Fish” Globe Award and community advocates Mary Harris and Hank Miller. After receiving their honors, winners were presented with citations by Mount Vernon City Council member Roberta Apuzzo.
