Heathcote Hill, named after the Mamaroneck neighborhood Guitarist Tom Nelson lives in, is comprised of Bruce Rose of Larchmont (bass), Megan Porcaro Herspring (vocals) of New Rochelle, and Tory Ridder (drums) of Mount Vernon.
The group met playing in different bands together around the Sound Shore and recorded at Headline Studios in Mamaroneck (formerly Acme) over the spring and summer.
Their new CD is comprised of 10 original songs ranging from Americana to alternative to power pop.
“Our goal was to make a record together” said Rose, who’s played in local bands for years. “Tom started writing writing the songs in 2014, and we started recording in March."
“For a musician, there are few things more exciting than to work in a real recording studio” added Ridder, who by day runs Mamaroneck’s School of Rock. “Megan is a fantastic singer, the tracks are really tight, and we’re really proud of how it came out.”
