Mount Vernon Lecture Focuses On Latino Film Experience

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Mount Vernon Public Library will hold a lecture on Latino Film and Popular Culture on Friday, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Grace Greene Baker Community Room.

Professors Paula Halperin and Leandro Benmergui from Purchase College, SUNY, will discuss the Latino experience in film--starting with silent films, moving to black-and-white and then color films. The lecture will show how the depiction of Latinos changed over time in popular film .
