Mount Vernon City Council to Honor Outstanding Citizens

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Mount Vernon City Council will honor outstanding citizens and groups that have contributed to the city in a ceremony on April 8.

Honorees include the following: Nancy Fitch, the first female and African-American City Clerk of Mount Vernon; Edna Harris, advocate for seniors, safety and exemplary faith-based leadership; Henry A. May, historian, author and founder of Parent Involvement Day; and all school safety crossing guards at Mount Vernon. 

The ceremony will be held April 8 at 7 p.m. during a regular meeting in the City Council Chambers.
