The after-school program provides homework help, a healthy snack and daily physical activity, as well as mentoring and guidance, for children ages 6-13 each day.
Power Hour helps club members achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities, and by encouraging members to become self-directed learners.
After-school program activities include Passport to Manhood; Smart Girls; Smart Moves; Project Learn; robotics; science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM; social recreation; physical activity; game room; basketball; soccer; computers; chess; karate; and film club.
Specialty programs are also available for club members. Specialty programs include developmental basketball, cheerleading, dance, golf and karate.
To attend the after-school program and specialty programs, children must first become a member of the club. The club's STEM program is now nationally recognized by the Boys & Girls Club of America.
