Nathaly has worked at the Club through Mount Vernon’s Youth Employment Program. She is a proud member of the Alpha Stars Cheerleading Team who recently won a national championship in Orlando. She debuted her singing talents at the Boys and Girls Club of Mount Vernon’s end of summer celebration in 2015, and she sang at the Club’s recent Spoken Word Concert.

She aspires to work in the medical profession and is committed to improving her grades so she can attend a top university. She will represent the Boys and Girls Club of Mount Vernon at the upcoming Keystone Conference in Dallas.

Nathaly said of the club, “It has really helped me a lot. I have had my ups and downs along the way through mentoring. But I feel like a new person. I am not the same person … Overall, my experience at the Boys and Girls Club of Mount Vernon has been memorable, and I will treasure it forever. I would like to mention the people who have made this possible and helped me. Mr. Melvin Campos – I would not even be there if it were not for him. Mrs. Bailey – even though I have been in pain you still did not give up on me and showed me right from wrong. Mr. Johnson – for asking me how was my day and telling me it is OK things will get better. Finally, to Ms. Penny and Mrs. Powell – thank you for making me smile when I have a bad day.”
