MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Happy Birthday to Mount Vernon’s Edwin Williams!
Edwin Williams, who owns a house in Mount Vernon, turns 27 on Tuesday.
Williams, a football center and offensive guard, currently a free agent, was born Dec. 10, 1986, in Washington, D.C.
Williams most recently played for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. He played college football for the University of Maryland. He was signed by the Washington Redskins in 2009. He played in four games for Washington, including two starts as a right guard.
Williams was subsequently signed by the Chicago Bears and elevated to the active roster on September 27, 2010. In Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers, Williams scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery in the end zone after running back Kahlil Bell fumbled on the goal line. On Aug. 30, 2013, Williams was released from the Bears as part of final roster cuts.
