Street Resurfacing To Close Several Mount Vernon Roads

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The city of Mount Vernon has begun resurfacing a number of "dilapidated streets that have been neglected for way too long," according to officials.

Street resurfacing is to close certain Mount Vernon roads on Friday, Monday and Tuesday, June 10, 13 and 14.

There are several streets that were scheduled to be milled and paved on Wednesday and Thursday. Several are scheduled for Friday and early next week, including:

Friday, June 10:

  • Sandford Boulevard (between Highland Avenue & Colonial Place)
Monday, June 13:

  • Harding Parkway (paving) – (between Central Parkway & N. Fulton Avenue)
Tuesday, June 14: 

  • Harding Parkway (milling) – (between Central Parkway & N. Fulton Avenue)

Drivers are urged to observe the "No Parking" signs posted in these areas to help move the project along quickly and efficiently.
