Mount Vernon Stages Black History Month Challenge

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Mount Vernon Armory will host the ninth annual Black History Month Challenge celebrating famous authors Maya Angelou, James Baldwin, Ta-Nehisi Coates and Toni Morrison on Wednesday.

The challenge will feature questions related to all aspects of past and recent black history in a quiz show format.

Participating teams are composed of members of school-based clubs and after-school programs from junior and high schools in Mount Vernon.

The Mount Vernon Armory is at 144 N. Fifth Ave.

The event runs from 3-6 p.m.
