MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Mount Vernon City School District will host a Mind, Body and Soul Family Fun Day on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Mount Vernon High School.
The event is designed to promote overall well-being and will feature games for the entire family, from sack races to scavenger hunts, with prizes.
It will also have bounce houses, a rock-climbing wall and an obstacle course.
“This event is part of Mount Vernon City School District’s continuing effort to educate the whole child,” said Superintendent of Schools Kenneth Hamilton. “Without proper nutrition and regular physical activity, children aren’t able to reach their fullest potential. This family fun day is a great way to kick off a healthy school year.”
Additional fair activities will include group line dancing and Zumba lessons. There will also be performances by local artists and students, healthy living demonstrations and information vendors, including the Mount Vernon Farmers Market and Montefiore Medical Center.
The event will be from noon-4 p.m. For additional details, call 914-665-5000.
