Only one pass per family may be borrowed at a time. Museum passes are loaned from the library's reference desk. The person borrowing a museum pass must present his/her own valid library card to the reference librarian and sign a museum pass loan agreement.
Children under 18 may not borrow museum passes for their parents. Passes may be reserved for the current and the next calendar months with the Reference Desk, in person or by phone (914-668-1840, ext.220). A family may have only one reservation for a museum pass for the same museum at any one time. The reference desk should be contacted at least 24 hours in advance to cancel a reservation.
Passes are reserved for three days and two nights: one day to check out the pass, one day to visit the museum and one day to return the pass. If the library is not open on the third day, the pass must be returned on the next day the library is open. A fee of $10 will be charged each day that the pass is late.
Additionally, passes may not be renewed and must be returned in person to Mount Vernon Public Library's Reference Desk at least 30 minutes before the library’s regular closing time. A fee of $10 will be charged for passes returned to the book drop and $30 for passes returned to other libraries. Please don’t, as they are expensive.
To help you hold on to the pass, the library will lend it to you inside of a badge holder, which you can wear around your neck. You will be charged the full replacement cost of the pass if it is lost.
