Mount Vernon Library Presents Book Talk, Signing With Lashonda Barnett

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Mount Vernon Public Library is offering an opportunity for residents to meet "Jam on the Vine" author Lashonda Katrice Barnett at the library on Thursday, May 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Community Room.

Barnett will be present for a book signing and discussion. Her novel, "Jam on the Vine" was released in February 2015 which chronicles the life of Ivoe, a trailblazing African American woman journalist in the Jim Crow South. 

Barnett has been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize. She currently writes full-time at home on Manhattan's upper West side.
