Mount Vernon Alters Garbage Pickup For Holiday Week

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The schedule for garbage pickup for the week of Feb. 15 has been changed in observance of Presidents Day. 

The Presidents Day holiday has forced changes in the Mount Vernon garbage and parking schedules.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Feb. 15: no pickups
  • Feb. 16: Southside - garbage pickup 
  • Feb. 17: Northside - garbage pickup; Southside - recyclables (bottles, cans and plastic) 
  • Feb. 18: Northside - recyclables; Southside - garbage and rubbish pickup
  • Feb. 19: Northside - garbage and rubbish pickup

In addition, alternate side of the street parking will be suspended on both sides of the street on Monday, Feb. 15 for Presidents Day.
