Jazz Scholar Gives Talk At Mount Vernon Library For Black History Month

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- LaShonda Katrice Barnett's keynote address, "Sound The Trumpet, Black History Through Jazz," will be featured on Thursday, Feb. 4, at the Mount Vernon Public Library.

Barnett's talk is for Black History Month. She is a lover of jazz and scholar of jazz. She's conducted extensive interviews with musicians, has hosted a jazz radio show and has taught a "Women in Jazz" class.

Barnett is also author of "Jam on the Vine."

The address will be from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Community Room of the library. The library is at 28 South First Ave.
