This year, the Y-COP’s summer camp will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from July 8 through Aug. 23. The camp will include field trips to library, local parks and sport instruction.

Each week will introduce a new theme to campers, including fitness, hygiene, the environment and nature. Camps are designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12.

Campers will receive a bag of groceries each week from the Food Bank for Westchester’s Backpack Program, and lunch will be provided each day by the Mount Vernon School District.

Y-COP is partnering with the Mount Vernon Public Library and the Jewish Community Services-Summer Buddies Reading Program to ensure that campers read no less than five books during the summer.

Those interested in registering for camp, volunteering or donating can contact Program Director Henry Wilson at (914) 215-3063 or ycop2012@gmail.com.
