What's Happening In Mount Vernon This Weekend

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Several concerts, an Italian festival and a street fair highlight this weekend's events in Mount Vernon.

Friday, Aug. 17

Children’s Summer Reading Celebration: 1 to 4 p.m. The Mount Vernon Public Library will hold an outdoor summer reading celebration. Games, music, food and more  to celebrate the Summer Reading accomplishments. This is a family event. 28 S. 1st Ave., Mount Vernon.

Summer Movie: 3 to 5 p.m. The Mount Vernon Public Library will show children's movies in the children's room, 28 S. 1st Ave., Mount Vernon.

Italian Night: 6 to 11:30 p.m. The Summer Breeze Concert Series continues with Italian Night, sponsored by Café Europa, Gramatan Avenue between North and Sidney streets, Mount Vernon.

Concert at the Bayou: 10 p.m. Jed Luckless, a blues musician, plays the Bayou Restaurant, 580 Gramatan Ave., Mount Vernon.

Saturday, Aug. 18

Street Fair: 1 p.m. Allen Memorial Church of God will hold a street fair, 132 Crary Ave., Mount Vernon.

Gospel Night: 7 p.m. The Summer Breeze Concert Series continues in front of City Hall with Gospel Night, 1 Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon

Concert at the Bayou: 11 p.m. Singer/songwriter Ali Isabella will perform at the Bayou Restaurant, 580 Gramatan Ave., Mount Vernon

Sunday, Aug. 19

Early Worship Service: 7:30 a.m. Macedonia Baptist Church will hold a worship service, 141 S. 9th Ave., Mount Vernon.

Praise Worship: 8 p.m. First Presbyterian Church will hold a worship service, 199 N. Columbus Ave., Mount Vernon.
