Carnival Fest : Noon to 7 p.m. Mount Vernon celebrates 50 years of Jamaican Independence with Carnival Fest. Hartley Park.

Jamaican Anniversary Service : 4 p.m. A special church service will be held at the Oneness Rehoboth Church. 125 East 3rd St.
50th Independence Day Jamaican Anniversary : 6 p.m. Jump Up music event is the final phase of the Jamaican Independence celebration. In front of City Hall, 1 Roosevelt Square.
