Monday, Aug. 20

Storytelling: 2 to 4 p.m. Stuart Nager will tell stories to children in an event sponsored by Arts of Westchester at the Mount Vernon Public Library, 28 S. First St., Mount Vernon.

Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting: 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. The Mount Vernon Zoning Board of Appeals will meet in the City Council Chambers in City Hall, 1 Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon.

Tuesday, Aug. 21

Family Fun For Tots: 10:15 a.m. - Noon Parents and their children will have playtime in the Children's Room of the Mount Vernon Public Library, 1 S. First St. Mount Vernon.

Architectural Review Board Meeting: 6:30 p.m. The Mount Vernon Architectural Review Board will meet in the Memorial Room in City Hall, 1 Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon.

Talent Night: 7 p.m. The summer Breeze Concert Series continues with "Talent Night" in front of City Hall, 1 Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

GED Workshop: 9:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The Mount Vernon Public Library will hold “College to Careers,” a class for people studying for their GED, 28 S. First Ave., Mount Vernon.

First Steps Program: 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The Mount Vernon Public Library will hold the "First Steps" program for those interested in starting a small business, 28 S. First St., Mount Vernon.

Thursday, Aug. 23

GED Workshop: 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Mount Vernon Public Library will hold “College to Careers,” a class for people studying for their GED, 28 S. First Ave., Mount Vernon.

Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Farmers and other local vendors will be selling their products in front of City Hall, 1 Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon.

Friday, Aug. 24

Safe Driving Class: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The AARP will be holding a safe driving class at the Mount Vernon Public Library, 28 S. First St., Mount Vernon.

Concert at the Bayou: 11 p.m. Drummer Cliff Hackford has had a diverse career as a musician. He has played with a wide variety of artists ranging from AK-47 to Vickie Sue Robinson; Reggae with Fullhand and Pablo Moses; blues with artists like Cadillac Moon, The Walkers and Matt Guitar Murphy and Indian classical tabla playing with a variety of artists, 580 Gramatan Ave., Mount Vernon.
