What To Do In Mount Vernon This Weekend

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - The SAT exam for students, the conclusion of a pet food drive and several concerts highlight this weekend's events in Mount Vernon.

Friday, Oct. 5

Pet Food Drive: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Mount Vernon Animal Shelter will host a pet food drive at the Mount Vernon Public Library, 28 S. First Ave., Mount Vernon.

Chat 'N' Snack Book Club: 3:30 to 4 p.m. Third, fourth and fifth graders are invited to discuss the book "Attack of the Evil Elvises.” The meeting will take place in the Children's Room, Mount Vernon Public Library, 28 S. First Ave., Mount Vernon.

Concert at the Bayou: 11 p.m. Cliff Hackford and Friends perform at the Bayou Restaurant. Admission is $5, 580 Gramatan Ave., Mount Vernon.

Saturday, Oct. 6

SAT Exam: The SAT exam will be taken by students in the Mount Vernon City School District.

Concert at the Bayou: 11 p.m. Van Halen Tribute Band "Unchained" performs at the Bayou Restaurant. Admission is $10, 580 Gramatan Ave., Mount Vernon.

Sunday, Oct. 7

Early Worship Service: 7:30 a.m. Macedonia Baptist Church will have a worship service, 141 S. 9th Ave.

Praise Worship: 8 p.m. First Presbyterian Church will have a worship service, 199 N. Columbus Ave.

Sunday Worship: 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Grace Baptist Church will have three worship services, 52 S. 6th Ave., Mount Vernon.
