Friday, May 3

Bake and Book Sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The semi-annual event features a wide variety of books on fiction, nonfiction and special topics. There will also be a refreshment table with coffee and snacks in the community room. 28 S. 1st Ave., Mount Vernon.

Saturday, May 4

Kentucky Derby gala: 2 p.m. The Bayou will feature a special menu featuring several southern favorites. One free cocktail will be given out to women wearing derby hats. 580 Gramatan Ave., Mount Vernon.

Sunday, May 5

Worship services: 7 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 12 p.m. The Greater Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church will host three services. 312 S. 8Th Ave., Mount Vernon.
