Among them was the Lindner family of Tenafly who welcomed son, George.

"We didn't realize what a big deal it was [to have a leap year baby]. People are sending us things to sign up for clubs," said dad Peter.

Mom Meredith added: "When he's four in 2020, we'll celebrate his first birthday with first birthday balloons. We haven't decided whether we'll celebrate on the 28th or the 1st. We may do something at midnight because it puts you in between the two."

This is the couple's second child. They have a daughter, Alex, who was excited to make a welcome sign for her new baby brother.

The Cuozzos of Montvale were also blessed with a leap year day arrival. Their third child, named Carter, will celebrate his birthday on March 1 going forward because his older sister is a February baby. "Then, every leap year, we'll have a special leap year birthday," said mom Jennifer.

Carter joins siblings Shea, 5, and Zachary, 3, along with father David.
