Cindy Wasser, manager of Green Building Programs at Home Innovation Research Labs, will give the presentation on Wednesday, Nov. 19. The presentation will take place at the offices of Westchester Magazine, 2 Clinton Ave., in Rye. Registration and refreshments begin at 5:30 p.m. The presentation begins at 6 p.m.
Until recently, single-family homes and multifamily buildings have lagged the green certification market because in residential architecture, the margins are small and the returns are not sufficient to support certain green practices.
The NGBS is the first green building standard approved by the American National Standards Institute and offers a flexible, credible, and affordable rating system for residential builders and developers. The NGBS establishes practices for the design and construction of green residential buildings, renovations, and land developments.
The presentation is hosted by Murphy Brothers Contracting, Andersen Windows, Interstate and Lakeland Lumber, Dow Powerhouse Solar Shingles, Hudson Valley Builders and Remodelers Association and the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Fairfield County.
Space is limited. Register by emailing Michael at michael@murphybrothers.com. For more information on the NGBS, visit www.homeinnovation.com/Green.
