He is Bronx native, actor/artist Christopher Williams whose career highlights include "I'm Dreamin" from the Jack City soundtrack. The song was a number one single on Billbaord's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, said a release.
William's tracks include “Talk to Myself”, “Every Little Thing U Do” and “Promises, Promises."
His acting career include the film, "New Jack City," in which he played the role of Kareem Akbar, and cameo appearances in "New York Undercover" and "The Gunmen" starring Christopher Lambert and Mario Van Peebles.
On the off-Broadway stage, Williams starred or co-starred in"The Clean-Up Woman", "A Good Man is Hard to Find", "A House is Not a Home", and "Men Cry in the Dark". He is the nephew of jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald.
The Series project manager Sheryll Brownlee-Fox is also a singer.
"I seek, at least, one accomplished artist annually who is from this area to serve as inspiration and confirmation to other perforers that this too can be you, so don't stop pursuing your dream. He's an excellent performer," she noted.
Opening for the concert is Sam Taybron, of Queens, N.Y. He recently launched his CD, “Love Station", a collection of love songs.
The free concerts are held Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hartley Park, corners of Gramatan and East Lincoln avenues, at the roundabout, circle and fountain.
