Mount Vernon Nursing Home Sets Talk On Alzheimer's, Dementia

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A discussion on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia will be offered at Wartburg, a nursing home and senior living facility in Mount Vernon.

The Tuesday, May 17, presentation will be led by a panel of experts from the Alzheimer’s Association, Burke Rehabilitation Center, Pace University, and Wartburg.

They will talk about the early warning signs of Alzheimer’s and dementia, current research, clinical studies, tips for caregivers, and ways to keep individuals with these conditions engaged through art and music.

The panelists are: Linda Carozza, Pace University; Dr. Pasquale Fonzetti, Burke; Ann Frey, Wartburg; Patricia Gaston, Alzheimer’s Association; Geraldine Sanders-Joyner, Wartburg; and Jonelle Ward, Alzheimer’s Association.

The program runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. and includes a complimentary lunch.

There is limited seating for the event, so registration is required.
