Mount Vernon NAACP Holding Black History Celebration

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. ‒ Black history will celebrated Saturday with a program of speeches and displays sponsored by the Mount Vernon Branch of the NAACP and the Mount Vernon Theater Company.

The free event will feature guest speakers, excerpt speeches, and a play by the Mount Vernon Children's Theater. A mini-archive museum will also be setup, as will photos of slavery past and present.

The event will be held at the Doles Center, located at 250 S. 6th Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 917-753-2438.
