Mount Vernon Library Book Club Discusses Book On 'I Have A Dream' Speech

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – The Brown Bag Book Club at the Mount Vernon Public Library will discuss “Behind the Dream: The Making of a Speech That Transformed the Nation” on Thursday, Feb. 26, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Written by Clarence Jones and Stuart Connelly, 'Behind the Dream' is a behind the scenes account of the creation of Martin Luther King's “I Have A Dream” speech, given in Washington, D.C. on Aug. 28, 1963.

The co-writer of the speech and a confidant of King, Jones collaborated with great contemporary minds to help hammer out the ideas that would be blended together on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

Light refreshments will be served.
