The county’s mobile passport office will be stationed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, at the Mount Vernon Public Library, 28 S. 1st Ave. It will give travelers the chance to quickly apply for a passport, including photo.

Each year members of the clerk’s outreach staff travel around the county accepting passport applications. Last year, more than 500 passport applications were submitted at the mobile office.

Those filling out an application at the mobile passport office are required to bring proof of citizenship, which is limited to a previous passport or a certified birth certificate, either the original or a copy.

The clerk’s office also will require a valid driver’s license or government-issued identification and a recent passport photo.

Those who don’t have a recent photo can have one taken for a $10 fee.

An adult’s passport will cost $135, while a child’s passport is reduced to $105. Only a money order, check or credit card will be accepted, no cash. Expedited delivery, within three weeks, will cost $60 extra. Otherwise, delivery of your passport will take several weeks longer.

For those who cannot make it to the mobile passport office on Monday, applications also can be submitted in person at the Westchester County Clerk's Office in White Plains at 110 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays, excluding legal holidays.
