Make A Toast To Mount Vernon Trailblazers

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – The Future Society Inc. (TFSI), a non-profit organization that provides mentoring for inner city families will honor several Mount Vernon officials at its First Annual Globe Awards Fundraising Dinner.

The theme of this year’s event is “A Toast To Our Trailblazers.” Ten Mount Vernon individuals who have shown a commitment to the youth of the city will be celebrated.

Honorees include Mayor Ernest Davis and Deputy Fire Chief Tom Duffy. Inspiration Globe Awards will be presented to two members of the Wartburg, David Gentner and Ann Frey. DaMia Harris, the executive director of the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau and members of TFSI will also be celebrated.

DJ Jon Quick from 107.5FM will provide entertainment, and there will be an appearance by former Utah Jazz guard Andrew Walker. Author M. Walter Levine will give the keynote address. Additionally, there will be a Chinese Auction and 50-50 raffle.

Tickets are already on sale for the event – which has limited seating - selling for $150 each. The fundraiser will be from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Davenport Club in New Rochelle.

Proceeds from the event will go toward TSFI youth programs that include horseback riding, whitewater rafting and fishing.
