WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Fresh, locally produced foods and unique handcrafted items can be bought at the new Main Street Market, to be held Sunday, Nov. 16, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and then monthly on select Sundays through March, at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

The market’s vendors and producers, all from the tri-state area, will present local foods, such as cheeses, pickles, meats, baked goods and wine along with hand-made jewelry, soaps and body butters. Many food vendors will offer samples to help shoppers make their selections.

Each monthly market will feature live entertainment provided by local musicians from the Hudson Valley and surrounding area; on Nov. 16 market shoppers can enjoy the musical styles of Petey Hop.

As a headliner at numerous tri-state venues, Hop treats audiences to updated covers of the music of major artists like Grand Funk Railroad, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray and NRBQ, along with his own original compositions that reflect his influences from the realms of country, alternative, rock & roll and blues.

Admission is free and regular parking fees apply. Future market dates are Dec. 14, 2014, and Sunday, Jan. 18, Sunday, Feb. 8 and Sunday, March 22, 2015.

Sponsored by Westchester County Parks Department, this market is for the sale of local food and products.

The Westchester County Center is at 198 Central Park Ave. in White Plains.
