MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Jerry Alleyne Memorial Foundation will host a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Westchester Plaza Tennis Academy.
Donations will go to help students train, play and participate in USTA programs. The foundation, nonprofit organization, is dedicated to helping students build character and leadership skills through tennis. Two tickets to the U.S. Open will be raffled off at the event.
The foundation is taking donations of unwanted fashion jewelry and accessories, such as hats, scarves and pocketbooks. Mail items or donations to Loretta Van Raalte, president at Jerry Alleyne Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 424, Hartsdale, NY 10530. Items also can be dropped off at the Westchester Plaza Tennis Academy, 40 E. Sidney Ave., Mount Vernon.
The foundation also will have a booth Sunday, Sept. 6 at Arts on Third.
