Cambridge resident Jamaar Cornish, 34, was arrested on Thursday, July 7, according to the Annapolis Police Department, which has been investigating the robbery of Wells Fargo in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road earlier this year.

Officers from the department responded to Wells Fargo on Wednesday, May 18, where there was a reported bank robbery that had just taken place, police said. A suspect - later identified as Annapolis resident Pedro Nguyen, 38 - allegedly entered the branch and handed the teller a note announcing a robbery.

The teller complied and Nguyen fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was later arrested on Thursday, May 19, and charged with robbery and four other related charges.

Nguyen is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

Further investigation into the robbery led police to identify Cornish as a second suspect.

“Through investigative means detectives were able to identify Cornish as an additional suspect in the robbery,” police announced on Friday, July 8. “Criminal charges were applied for and an arrest warrant was issued that included several charges relating to the bank robbery.”

Cornish was served with the warrant and is being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
