At 7 p.m. on the steps of City Hall, McDaniel and his band will fill the city streets with the smooth and inspiring sounds of gospel music. Bobbi Humphrey and Patience Higgins hosted jazz performances earlier this week.
McDaniel got started in the industry when he was the organist and choir director at his church when he was 13 years old. He has been writing songs since he was a teenager and has since had several hits in the gospel community.
The concert series kicked off last week with a performance by jazz trumpeter Kenny Lee.
Each concert will engender a different genre of music, from Caribbean and reggae to R&B and hip-hop.
