Bronxville Sidewalk Sale Set For This Weekend

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – With winter rapidly approaching, and with it, Mother Nature’s wrath, the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce has been hard at work, scheduling a series of village events while the weather is still tolerable.

There will be fun for residents of all ages beginning this weekend, on Friday, Oct. 17 with the annual Bronxville Fall Sidewalk Sale, and concluding with the village’s Children’s Halloween Carnival on Sunday.

The Bronxville Sidewalk Sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17 and 18, though shop owners may rotate items at their own discretion. Businesses will offer discounts as high as 70 percent off regular retail prices, right out on the street for shoppers’ convenience.

Both events will be held regardless of weather conditions, though inclement weather could limit entertainment and food sales. Free parking will be provided courtesy of the village in the Garden and Kraft avenue lots. Meters will be in effect elsewhere.

From noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, the village will become a sea of tiny costumed characters, as Bronxville youngsters will show off their Halloween costumes in a carnival at Leonard Morange Square, near the Metro-North Railroad Station.

Special this year will be Fabio’s Hair Studio tent, which will offer children’s hairstyles and makeup for $5. There will also be a game of chance that will offer players the chance to win a free haircut. The tent will be in front of the hair studio on Friday and at the street fair Saturday.
