The auditions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 31 at the Doles Center. There will be individual singers, group performances, spoken word artists, dancers and vocalists of all ages.
The competition will be judged by radio personalities from Power 105.1 in an “Apollo style,” where the audience will ultimately determine the winner by virtue of their cheers and applause.
Those interested in auditioning must email, mail or hand deliver a press kit that includes a high resolution, 8 by 10-inch photo, a biography, contract information and work samples. It can be sent electronically to mvac@gmail.com or by hand to the Arts on Third Festival, c/o the Department of Human Resources on the second floor at Mount Vernon City Hall. Press kits should be received no later than July 28.
Last year, Arts on Third drew more than 40,000 people from throughout Westchester. Volunteers are needed to help the free music, arts and education festival run smoothly.
The festival, which was founded in 1999, is one of lower Westchester’s largest cultural events. It offers local artists the opportunity to showcase music, theater film, literature and other performance arts.
