The new vendors’ section will showcase unique horticultural and botanical-related items for sale, including pottery, garden art, organic food items, wood products and more.

“If you’ve never been to Lasdon before, the annual Friends of Lasdon plant sale is an excellent reason to visit and experience this spectacular park,” Astorino said. “If you’re someone who attends the sale every year, you’re sure to enjoy several new enhancements at this year’s sale.”

New themed plant selections will include plant species to attract butterflies (milkweed, butterfly weed), and an agro-forestry selection of plants and trees to grow within wooded sites to produce edible products (nut trees, berry plants, and more).

Other plant sale selections will include many native plants, such as perennials, trees and shrubs, along with a host of annuals and hanging baskets. There also will be a selection of herbs, vegetables, hanging flowering plants and special patio planters made up of flowering annuals.

Plants grown by Lasdon Park staff will be on sale to raise money for a planned glass house conservatory at the park. A special plant rarity section will include hard-to-find specimen plants for the serious collector.

Admission and parking are free, and the event will be rain or shine.

Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial is at 2610 Amawalk Road (Route 35), Katonah.
