MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- R&B singer and Mount Vernon native Al B. Sure will headline the Arts on Third Festival.
Born Albert Joseph Brown III, Al B. Sure was selected by Quincy Jones as the first winner of the "Sony Innovators Talent Search" and has been nominated for three Grammy awards. His debut album "In Effect Mode" sold more than two million copies, and he is credited for introducing artists such as Jodeci, Faith Evans and Usher to the world as a writer and producer.
Arts on Third takes place across six blocks on Third Street in Mount Vernon on Sept. 6 from 1 to 7 p.m. The free festival features live music, a Children's Village, Artists Row, a Healthy Living Pavilion and more.
