MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Mount Vernon's Wartburg has announced that Angela Ciminello will be the group's new director of development.
Ciminello, a professional fund-raiser with more than 15 years of experience, will be responsible for implementing a range of fundraising strategies to cultivate donations from all Wartburg constituencies. She will be responsible for the management of the Development Department and activities related to fundraising, donor relations, community relations and event management.
Ciminello most recently served as director of development at Burke Rehabilitation Center in White Plains, "where she helped significantly increase support by successfully building revenue-generating programs in a newly-recreated fundraising department," Wartburg representatives said.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity be a part of Wartburg’s dynamic team and to join its outstanding staff,” said Ciminello. “I look forward to exploring new avenues of support with the board and volunteers, while honoring the vision of Wartburg founder, the Rev. William A. Passavant, to provide a comprehensive and caring environment to nurture the body, mind and spirit of those we serve.”
Ciminello, a graduate of Iona College in New Rochelle, is an active volunteer and board member of the Smiling Faces Children’s Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to the education and treatment of children with cranial-facial abnormalities.
“Angela brings years of experience in non-profit healthcare fundraising to this role. She understands the environment and will certainly be in a position to take Wartburg’s fundraising programs to the forefront of this community," said David Gentner, president and chief executive officer of Wartburg. "Now is a time to be creative, and we are looking to move beyond our current fund-raising initiatives. We welcome Angela to our organization.”
